The Mechanical department has well qualified and competent, 12 academic, 17 supporting staff members and 200 students. The department has established twelve Lab centers and a Massive Work shop. Active experimental, research and development works are being conducted in the Department. The research strength of the department is reflected in the numerous papers published in International, National conferences and Journals every year.

STRENGTH OF MATERIALS LABORATORY : 
40 Tonnes capacity Fi make Universal Testing Machine. Impact Testing Machine. Torsion Testing Machine , Tensile Testing Machine, Hardness Testing Machine, and Fatigue Testing Machine with complete accessories are dedicated for conducting Experiments as well as Research work by the students and Faculty members.

METALLURGY LABORATORY :
Metallurgical structure of the materials have been analysed through Binocular and Trinocular Microscope Universal sand strength Testing Machine, Single Pan balance, Electric Muffle furnace. Linisher and disc polishing machines, Jomny and Quench test apparatus, sand permeability tester, sieve Analyzer, sand Weighing scales are very much influenced to carry out the Experimental analysis and Behavioural changes of materials.

INSTRUMENTATION AND DYNAMICS LABORATORY:
Digital and closed type pressure, vaccum , Speed , Temperature, Force Measuring Devices, LVDT , Stroboscope devices are used to analyse the instruments calibration. Dynamic analysis and determined by the usage of Lathe, Drill dynamo meter , prony Brake , Rope , Mechanical , Electrical and Hydraulic dynamometer.

THERMAL LABORATORY :
Thermax 300 kg/hr. steam flow rate, 10 kg/sq.cm working pressure steam turbine and boiler are used to determine the thermal behaviours. Two stage Air compressor, Refrigerator and air conditioners are used for study of performance of Refrigerators and Air conditioning units. Bomb calorimeter , smoke point apparatus also included in this section for conducting fuel testing and steam saturation analysis.

MACHINE SHOP:
This has shop floor machine like lathes, Drilling Machines, Grinding Machines, Shaping Machines, Planning Machines, Slotting Machines, Turret & Capstan Lathes, Milling Machines , Surface grinders that are used for giving Practical training to the Mechanical Engineering students.

FITTING AND CARPENTRY :
This section contains latest Micuny height gauge, which is used for accurate marking on the innovative models.

SMITHY, FOUNDRY AND WELDING :
Separate Area have been allotted for Arc and gas Welding machines at the range of 50A - 440V. Swage block , Anvil and appropriate tools are used to make complicated models. All the necessary foundry tools, Aluminium patterns are used to give a practical training to the students.

FLUID MECHANICS AND MACHINERY LABORATORY : 
Closed Circuit machines are equipped with this laboratory. High calibratin apparatus like venturimeter, Orifice Meter, Water Meter apparatus and flow nozzle, notches and Wair's apparatus, Pitot tube and Bernauli's Theorem apparatus are used for the Experimental analysis on hydraulic Behaviours. Fluid Machinery section contains impulse turbine pelton wheel. Reaction Francis Turbine and Kaplan Turbine , Centrifugal pump (both constant speed and variable speed) and Reciprocating pumps are used to determine the Fluid Dynamics behaviours.

METROLOGY LABORATORY : 
Conduct the testing on various behavioral changes on materials and component, Metrology Laboratory is fully equipped with Precision Instruments, Auto collimator, Pneumatic comparator, Tool maker's microscope, floating carriage micrometers.

IC ENGINE LABORATORY: 
This lab has stocked with 4 stroke water cooled Diesel Engines, Single cylinder 4 stroke water cooled diesel engines, 2 cylinder, 4 stroke water cooled diesel engine, single cylinder 4 stroke Air cooled Engine, 4 cylinder water cooled, 4 stroke diesel engine, 4 cylinder water cooled, 4 stroke petrol engine, Heat balance sheet and automotive. Characteristic curves are also being performed in this section.

HEAT & MASS TRANSTER LABORATORY : 
The Lab is equipped with Botzuman apparatus, parallel and counter flow heat exchangers, Emmissivity, plug-in apparatus, Natural and forced convection, Thermal conductivity equipment.
